Before                                                                                                After

image 1: poster on a Billboard

Strengths:
The title is very unique and well thought out.
The shade of blue in the water mixes well with the sun going down in the background.
The wine glass and bottle indicates that the image is being used for advertising an off-license.

Weaknesses:
The title is slightly hard to see with the sun shining over it in the background.

Quality of the image:
The quality of the image is very good, has no problems with the zoom in or out.
The shades of colours are very strong throughout the image.

Suitability for its purpose:
The image would work well for advertising an off-license.
It would be suitable for the purpose of website advertising.
It works well for the purpose given.

Use of typography or imagery used:
The text used fits well with the scenery provided but could be darkened slightly so that it is easy to see.
The imagery is very good and well thought out and also provides a major amount of advertising.

Improvements in relation to feedback:
From my feedback it says that the text was a little hard to see on the image so i went and made it thick and wider making it easier for the user to see.
Copyright:
For this image I took my own pictures the only thing that I took from the internet was the sunset background which I changed in a number of ways to make my own image.

Image 2: LOGO

Strengths:
The image is very eye-catching and very much suitable for the purpose.
This image is used as a logo which can be used to place around an off-license and also for a website.
I like the fact that the letter ‘A’ is brought into the image with the two glasses.

Weaknesses:
I do think that the text is just a little too dark compared to the letter ‘A’. If the rest of the text was the same shape as this letter then if would be perfect. Also I would say that people may be wondering why there are two apostrophes in the text.

Quality of images:
The quality of the image is good.
It would be suitable to be used in many formats like websites, flyers, billboards etc because of the quality of the image. No matter how large the image is or if the resolution is changed the image will still stay good quality.

Suitability for purpose:
This image meets all the requirements and will be suitable for any formats as mentioned. It really does advertise an off-license and by the looks of this image a good one at that.

Use of typography or imagery used:
The text used is suitable for the image and had been taken into the image as we can see from the two glasses. Also two glasses of champagne is used also which again is suitable for the purpose of the task. A really good suitable image!

Improvements in relation to feedback:
From my feed back the user said my text was too dark and that the two apostrophes should not be there so i improved the saturation and brightness of the text and i also remove the apostrophes
Copyright:
For this image I have used two images which are the shot glasses to make my A and the two champagne glasses but I edited these two images in a number of ways including cropping and colour distortion to make my own image.

Image 3: Promotional flyer/poster

Strengths:
Again this image is very good as it relates to the purpose of the task.
The text at the top and then the information at the bottom makes it more aware of what the images and means and what it’s meant to tell us. Again this is a very good image which is related to the task and the off-license.

Weaknesses:
At first we may not understand what this image is about because there is nothing to tell the user that it even relates to an off-license, however we are reassured when we see the word paradise and then we are confirmed when we read the slogan at the bottom which reads, ‘Dan’s off-license. Paradise is closer than you think’.

Quality of the image:
The quality again as the previous, is very good. No matter how large the image is or if the resolution is changed the image will still stay good quality. This is very useful and opens many opportunities to have this image on a website, on flyers etc.

Suitability for purpose:
This would be suitable for many formats like websites, flyers, billboards and all round this ticks all the boxes for advertising an off-license.

Use of typography or imagery used:
As mentioned the text used confirms the message of the image. It makes us aware of why the image is there. The text and the image work well together and really do advertise an off-license well. Again another good image!

Improvements in relation to feedback:
According to the feed back i got it was stated that it was hard to know what the poster was for so i replaced the paradise with a title saying Dan's off license

Copyright:
I made this image from the three or four scanned in images that I scanned in myself and edited so I made my own image no copyright intended.

What is copyright.

My Definition
Copyright is a law that protects someone's images or information by law. It means a person or user can be charged by taking someone else's images or information with asking their permission also known as virtual stealing.

Online Definition:
Copyright is a legal concept, enacted by most governments, giving the creator of an original work exclusive rights to it, usually for a limited time. Generally, it is "the right to copy", but also gives the copyright holder the right to be credited for the work, to determine who may adapt the work to other forms, who may perform the work, who may financially benefit from it, and other, related rights. It is an intellectual property form (like the patent, the trademark, and the trade secret) applicable to any expressible form of an idea or information that is substantive and discrete.

Using the work of others
As with all copyright work, you should first obtain permission from the copyright owner before you use someone else’s work. There are many ways in which to contact the creator a few of them are E-mail, You should also be prepared to pay a fee, as many photographers will charge you for using their work but they can be bargained  down to a lower price.

Only the copyright owner, can give permission, so you should contact the photographer, or his/her company, directly for a much safer answer. For images published on the Internet, it is typical to contact the webmaster of the site in the first instance, unless the site provides contact details for the owner of the images themselves.

The copyright owner does not have to let you have their work or images it is their work so they are in charge of it.
